The JAPA- Jordan COVID 19 Task Force was created in mid-October 2020.
Jordan has suffered a significant surge of COVID 19 related hospitalization and death, dozens of Jordanian physicians in the United States who specialized in Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine, and Infectious Disease, and who have gained significant knowledge and experience in treating patients with COVID 19, grouped together to help Jordanian doctors in dealing with the Pandemic.
The task force has arranged for several online interactive webinars including crash ICU courses for both physicians and nurses in Jordan, along with plans to create a platform for tele-ICU. In addition, the JAPA- Jordan COVID 19 Task Force started a fundraising campaign and collected more than $250,000 dollars to buy high flow nasal cannula oxygen delivery machines and donated them to Jordanian hospitals. This task force has evolved into JAPA Academy to deliver educational and training opportunities in collaboration with Jordanian Ministry of Health and other entities such as USAID.
